When I was a kid my mom made us chocolate macaroons all the time...but they were nothing like this. Mom's had coconut and were made on the stove top as a drop cookie. I can't really say I like those cookies anymore, maybe I reached my limit as a kid...but these ones are pretty darn good. And they're gluten free so you can serve these to peeps with wheat allergies. Better than that they take about 5 min to prepare and then only 10 min to cook. You use ground almond in the place of flour which gives a nice nutty flavour. And the egg white gives the outside of the cookie a nice glazed look. Husband and I both enjoyed these..and that is saying something from me because I really don't like cookies for the most part.
